Unwanted lesions of the face and eyelids can easily be managed and removed. In your consultation, Dr. Brannan will determine the best method to remove unsightly benign lesions with the best cosmetic outcome based upon the size, location and type of lesion. Smaller lesions can be shaved, frozen or removed with electrocautery, none of which require surgical repair. Larger benign lesions requiring complete excision, may need repair and sutures. The goal is to leave minimal scarring with the best cosmetic outcome. These procedures are often quick with minimal discomfort, and most can be performed in the office.

Asymptomatic, non-suspicious lesion removal is usually considered cosmetic and not covered by insurance. However, irritated, inflamed, or enlarging lesions that have symptoms may qualify for coverage, depending on your insurance carrier.
With Dr. Brannan’s excellent surgical skill, scarring will be minimal but this depends on the size and location of the lesion.
Dr. Brannan takes extra measures to minimize discomfort during the procedure. Most patients state the surgery is painless and easier than dental procedures. Afterwards, discomfort is minimal.
