Eyelid Lesion Removal

Eyelid Lesion Removal

The eyelid has unique anatomic features and the proper diagnosis can be difficult. In your consultation, Dr. Brannan will determine the most likely diagnosis and the best method to sample or remove the eyelid lesion. He always seeks the best cosmetic outcome based upon the size, location and type of lesion, while protecting the surface of the eye. Given the proximity to the eyeball, you will need the expert surgical care of Dr. Brannan. These procedures are often quick with minimal discomfort, and most can be performed in the office.

FAQ'S

Will insurance pay for the lesion to be removed?

Often, insurance carriers will pay for lesions to be removed, especially if the lesion has grown, is irritated or painful, if you have a history of skin cancer, or if the lesion appears suspicious.

Will removal of the lesion leave a scar?

With Dr. Brannan’s excellent surgical skill, scarring will be minimal but this depends on the size and location of the lesion.

Will the procedure be painful during or afterwards?

Dr. Brannan takes extra measures to minimize discomfort during the procedure. Most patients state the surgery is painless and easier than dental procedures. Afterwards, discomfort is minimal.
